Recently, Maoming Petrochemical successfully produced the first domestically produced high viscosity index synthetic lubricating base oil mPAO20 product.
Compared with similar domestic products, this product has ultra-high viscosity index, excellent low-temperature flowability, and good wear resistance, which can meet the requirements for use in extremely cold environments. It can be applied in fields such as aerospace, navigation, wind power, and high-speed trains.
Previously, Maoming Petrochemical broke through the technological bottleneck and became the only domestic enterprise capable of producing a full range of mPAO products with medium, high, and ultra-high viscosity.
Metallocene poly (alpha olefin) (mPAO) is a high-end synthetic lubricant base oil obtained by catalyzing alpha olefins with metallocene catalysts. It is a key foundational material in high demand fields such as wind power, rail transportation, robotics, aerospace, and has obvious advantages in high-performance engine lubricants, automatic transmission oils, gear oils, industrial lubricants, and other application scenarios. With the rapid development of artificial intelligence, low viscosity poly (alpha olefin) will increasingly be applied in single-phase immersion cooling scenarios of servers.
Compared with traditional poly (alpha olefin) (PAO), the use of metallocene catalytic route can play a structural control role, and the resulting metallocene poly (alpha olefin) (mPAO) has obvious advantages, which can achieve product characteristics that cannot be compared with traditional catalytic route.
In terms of performance, it has the advantages of high viscosity index, good low-temperature flowability, strong thermal and oxidation stability, high shear stability, and low traction coefficient, which helps to maintain the stable viscosity of lubricating oil, improve the cold start and low-temperature flowability of lubricating oil, enhance durability, and extend service life.
In terms of environmental protection and safety, it has a longer oil change cycle, saves energy, and reduces emissions; Meanwhile, it has high purity and low odor, making it more suitable for use in high-end cosmetics.
In terms of compatibility, metallocene poly (alpha olefin) has excellent synergistic effects with various lubricant additives and good compatibility with other base oils, allowing for flexible formulation of lubricants with different properties.
